LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

2021-present: Founding Director (full-time since 2024), Institute for the Arts, Humanities, and Social Justice, San Diego State University

The Institute houses core projects that further diversity and equity in the arts, including the new interdisciplinary B.A. degree to be offered in a local prison. It was created by the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts in collaboration with the College of Arts and Letters.
 

2023-2024: Associate Dean of Faculty Advancement, College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts, San Diego State University

2013-present: Founder and Executive Director, Prison Arts Collective

Oversee a multi-site program dedicated to expanding access to the transformative power of the art to those who are incarcerated. Collaborative planning and visioning, funding and sustainability, and team management with programming in five regions of CA: San Diego, Fresno, Fullerton, Los Angeles, and Humboldt, 12 faculty across five institutions, and over 5000 incarcerated participants.


2019-2022: Director and Professor, School of Art + Design, San Diego State University

School has approximately 860 students, 15 tenure track faculty, 30+ lecturers, and a staff of seven. Set the vision and direction for the School, oversee two large facilities, participate in development, shared governance, and will lead curriculum revision.


2003-2005: Co-founder and Director, Imagine Yoga

Program included teacher training and support to bring yoga, art, and mindfulness practices to local elementary schools in Los Angeles and Denver.

Winter, 2011: Adjunct Instructor, Social and Cultural Framework of Art   

    Education, California State University, San Bernardino. 
Winter and Spring Quarters, 2010 and 2011: Adjunct Instructor, Dance and Physical

    Education Methods, UCLA: TeachLA/Teach Compton. Taught student on site in role as

    first year teacher at the Ramon C. Cortines School of Visual and Performing Arts,

    Los Angeles.
